In the first section of , the Japanese fleet raided the US military port.

After the Lugouqiao Incident in 1937, the Japanese militarists launched an all-round war of aggression against China.

In a short time, he occupied China’s large territory in North China, central China and Southern China, and attempted to Chinese mainland as a base for its northward entry into the Soviet Union, South-East Asia and the southwest Pacific region, and then realized its dream of “Greater East Asia common prosperity circle”.

However, because the Chinese army and people fought hard, the Japanese invading army was deeply trapped in the quagmire of the China Japan war.

At the same time, the two operations of entering the Soviet Union in the north were frustrated, which made Japan feel that it was unable to implement the “North” and “south” plans at the same time.

Therefore, they decided to take advantage of the favorable opportunity when Britain and France were busy with the war in Europe and temporarily ignored Asia, and instead adopted the strategic policy of attacking the South and defending the north.

The outbreak of the Soviet German war on June 22, 1941 further relieved the worries of Japan’s “Southward March”.

At the beginning of July, the Japanese stronghold held a pre Royal conference, analyzed the situation and formulated a plan: it is determined to expand the offensive action in Southeast Asia on the basis of the early invasion of the French Indochina, and at the same time launch the Pacific War.

As Japan’s southward offensive directly threatens the interests and privileges of the United States in the Pacific, the U.S. government has taken some economic sanctions, such as freezing Japanese assets in the United States and imposing a comprehensive oil embargo.

In this way, the contradiction between Japan and the United States has become increasingly acute.

In order to protect its vested interests in Asia and the Pacific, the United States has established a huge fleet of hundreds of warships with Pearl Harbor on the Hawaiian Islands as its main base.

The Hawaiian Islands are located in the north central part of the Pacific Ocean.

They are composed of more than 20 islands, including Hawaiian island, Maui Island, Molokai island and Oahu Island.

The capital is Honolulu.

Pearl Harbor is located in the south of Oahu Island.

It is the general hub of transportation in the Pacific Ocean.

It is known as the “heart of the Pacific Ocean”.

There is the largest US naval base in the Pacific region.

It is conical with Guam and Manila Bay and points to the Western Pacific Ocean, which is the main obstacle to Japan’s “Southward” action.

December 7, 1941 (Hawaii time), it was Sunday.

Compared with most regions of Europe, Africa and Asia, the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean are a scene of peace.

Most of the warships of the US Pacific fleet are quietly anchored at Pearl Harbor on the South Bank of Oahu Island.

The waves gently shook the warship, several seagulls frolicked over the warship, and the pop music played by the radio echoed in the air with the soft bells from the church.

After a happy weekend, the officers and men of the fleet were still immersed in a sweet dream.

The sun is rising in the East.

183 Japanese planes marked with the sun flag are carrying bombs to say “good morning” to them! “It’s time for dinner.

How can the truck for breakfast not come yet?” Elliot, the cartographer who turned off the radar for dinner, complained to private Lockhart, who was on duty with him.

Lockhart spread his hands, shrugged his shoulders and looked as if he had no comment.

The radar station is located on the top of opana mountain on Oahu Island, which is the northernmost of the five mobile radar stations set by the U.S. Army on the island.

Nothing to do.

Elliot turned on the radar again.

Suddenly, he found a pile of light spots flashing on the radar screen.

“Is it because the machine is out of order?” Private Lockhart hurriedly checked and confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the machine.

They quickly marked the orientation of these light spots: 3 degrees north by East, 220 kilometers away from the island.

“A huge fleet of aircraft is flying towards us.

” They made an emergency report to the army headquarters in Fort Sheff.

“I see.

” Lieutenant Taylor on duty told the two fussy soldiers disapprovingly, “don’t worry about it.

” He knew that a group of B-17 bombers transferred from the west coast of the United States would fly through here.

“The signal pulses on the radar screen are not them.

Who else can they be?” At 7:39 a.m., the Japanese aircraft fleet led by nakzo Yuantian sneaked into Pearl Harbor and flew to the airspace only 3500 meters away from Oahu Island.

Among the aircraft fleet are high-altitude bombers led by nakzo Yuantian, dive bombers led by major Takahashi, torpedo aircraft led by major Murata and some escort fighters.

The attack will be carried out soon, but the meteorological conditions are not clear.

Yuantian opened his eyes and looked ahead, trying to make an accurate judgment.

To his great surprise, the weather forecast of the local radio station came out from the cabin radio: “sunny to cloudy, the cloud bottom is 3500 meters high, north wind.

” 10 minutes later, the aircraft group entered the attack area.

The beautiful Pearl Harbor clearly meets Yuantian’s eyes.

The battleships moored in the harbor are like gentle rabbits, which will become a good meal for his “Eagle”! “1, 2, 3.

” he counted the battleships with interest with the help of a telescope, no more, no less, just eight.

“When the dishes are ready, what are you waiting for?” Yuantian issued an order to his messenger Shuimu, “immediately notify all aircraft and prepare for attack!” “Tuo, Tuo, Tuo, Tuo, Tuo!” (meaning “charge”) the dexterous fingers of the transmitter kept tapping the key of the transmitter and repeatedly patted the signal that excited the Japanese pilots.

At the same time, Yuantian fired a signal bomb, urging the Japanese pilots to quickly rush to the predetermined target.

At this time, none of the warships anchored in the harbor lifted anchor, there was no fighter plane in the air to intercept, and there was not even a warning.

Echoing in the air is still the pop jazz music broadcast by the radio station.

Yuantian was overjoyed.

He felt that he had a good chance of winning.

Before attacking, he excitedly ordered his transmitter: “report to the fleet immediately, I have succeeded in the surprise attack.

” “Tora, Tora, tora.

” (meaning “tiger, tiger, tiger”) with the continuous pressing of Shuimu’s fingers, this pre agreed signal of “successful surprise attack” was quickly transmitted to the Japanese Joint Fleet Command.

At the moment, general Yamamoto, the commander of the Japanese joint fleet, is playing chess with his chief of staff in the headquarters 5000 kilometers away from the operational area.

The confidential secretary happily presented the telegram.

Unexpectedly, Yamamoto gently sighed and continued to play his chess without saying a word.

At 0755 hours, 51 dive bombers led by Takahashi arrived at Hickam aircraft around Pearl HarborOver the airport, Wheeler airport, EVA airport and kaneohei airport.

Rows of American fighter planes and bombers, one by one, are neatly arranged on the apron, as if waiting for the “review” of distant “guests”.

Heavy bombs poured down from the bomb compartment of the Japanese dive bomber.

With a flash of fire, there were bursts of huge explosions, and tall pillars of smoke rose into the air.

In the smoke of gunpowder, hundreds of American planes turned into a pile of scrap iron.

Takahashi overlooks his “masterpiece” from the air and hums Japanese folk tunes with joy.

However, as commander-in-chief, Yuantian was shocked.

Originally, according to the predetermined plan, 40 torpedo planes led by Murata should attack the ships on the sea first, and then Takahashi will attack the airport.

Because once the smoke of the airport spreads, it will cover the ships on the sea, and it is difficult for the torpedo aircraft to attack the target accurately.

“We must speed up the attack on US ships!” Yuantian quickly ordered Murata to lead the torpedo fleet to take a shortcut and immediately attack the ship.

At the same time, he led 49 high-altitude horizontal bombers to quickly occupy the best bombing position.

At the moment, 96 ships of the US Pacific Fleet anchored in Pearl Harbor are preparing to hold a flag raising ceremony at 8:00 as usual.

On the stern deck of the battleship Nevada with a displacement of 29000 tons, the military band commanded by Macmillan has been formed.

At this time, many of them obviously noticed the dark fleet and the rumbling explosion from the nearby airport.

However, they all thought it was a special exercise.

Clark, commander of Pearl Harbor air force base, who was having breakfast at home, also saw the plane turning straight into the port at low altitude from the window.

However, he didn’t expect it to be a Japanese plane at all.

His first reaction was to punish those pilots who violated the “no straight turning flight in this airspace”.

At this time, the Japanese aircraft had been eyeing its main “prey” – eight US battleships with a displacement of about 30000 tons.

The torpedo fleet led by Murata roared almost close to the sea.

One torpedo rushed into the sea like a dolphin from the air only 12 meters high and rushed to the target.

The high-altitude horizontal bombers under the command of Yuantian also circled over the battleship with teeth and claws, throwing bombs and strafing wildly.

Admiral Kimmel, the commander of the Pacific Fleet, who was waiting for a car in front of the villa on the hillside of mccrapa and wanted to go to the headquarters to learn about the anti submarine war, was hit on the doorpost by the huge blast of the warship.

An urgent telegram was hurriedly sent from the Pacific Fleet Command: “Pearl Harbor was attacked by air.

This is not a drill!” At this time, it was 8 a.m. sharp.

The flag of the US Navy battleship “Nevada” is slowly rising with the US National Anthem Played by the military band commanded by Macmillan.

A Japanese torpedo plane roared past the flagpole, tore the flag into pieces with a row of mechanism guns, and fired torpedoes on the 34000 ton Arizona battleship moored outside the Nevada.

As soon as the battleship Arizona raised the signal flag of emergency departure, it received a fatal blow.

An armour piercing bullet penetrated the steel deck of the bow and caused the ammunition compartment to explode.

Successive explosions, such as erupting volcanoes, with plumes of fire more than 1000 meters high and thick smoke billowing.

The burning warship slowly tilted into the sea.

Only a few minutes later, the huge ship body and 1100 officers and soldiers on board sank in the surging sea.

The other two torpedoes hit the port side of the battleship Oklahoma, which was located on the outermost side of the battleship group.

The captain of the ship and many senior officers were on shore, and the officers and soldiers on the ship did not know what to do in fear.

The Japanese torpedo fleet seemed to take special care of the warship and fired 10 torpedoes on its port side in a row.

With the loud explosion, the ship immediately tilted seriously to the left and almost turned over.

The officers and men on the deck desperately fled to the battleship “Maryland” next to them, but more people slowly sank with the ship in the closed cabin.

Yuantian, who commanded the high-altitude horizontal bomber group, seemed to think it sank too slowly and quickly dropped several bombs.

The battleship “Oklahoma” was soon buried at the bottom of the sea.

When the officers and men in the cabin knew that the call of death was unstoppable, they wrote their suicide notes with a pen.

It was not until the ship was salvaged that people knew that 415 officers and soldiers died in the closed cabin.

Those who insisted on the longest lived on the seabed for 17 days and did not die until December 25.

Yuantian felt that he was not satisfied, and directed his fleet to violently bomb other battleships such as the “Maryland”.

He found that two of the four bombs he dropped hit the target directly.

There was fire on the surface of the ship, splashing a high column of water and falling heavily on the deck.

Unable to dodge, the sailors fell to the ground in confusion and were disoriented for a moment.

At 8:25, the aircraft group led by Yuantian ended the first attack wave that lasted half an hour and left.

Through contact, Yuantian learned that his fleet was only 9 planes less than when he came here.

A beautiful picture of the silent and deafening sea of Pearl Harbor is left.

The blue and clear water turned black and red, and hundreds of bodies fell to the ground and floated on the sea.

The bombed battleship lay askew on the sea, and the wounded on board moaned and cried bitterly, not only for themselves, but also for the warships and comrades who had been sleeping at the bottom of the sea.

The seagulls, which disappeared when the Japanese planes attacked, were circling and chirping in the air, as if they were paying tribute to their former sailor friends.

However, even such a sad calm lasted only more than ten minutes.

The second attack aircraft group of the Japanese army, composed of 81 dive bombers, 54 high-altitude horizontal bombers and 36 fighter planes, with a total of 171 aircraft, roared over Pearl Harbor.

This time, the Japanese army tried to kill all the ships in the port.

The battleship “Nevada”, which was injured in the first attack, was fleeing to the port in a hurry and just became the target of concentrated attack by Japanese aircraft.

In the “carpet” rounds of bombing, there were six bombs in the ship and the stern began to sink.

In order not to sink and block the channel, the captain ordered to advance to the left beach at full speed and wait for death there.

Anchored in “NeiHua”The “Xiao” destroyer at the floating dock near the “Da” was blown up by the falling bomb, and a large number of fuel overflowed.

The fire spread rapidly, causing the explosion of the ammunition depot of the other two destroyers in the dock, and the huge shock wave even overturned the small boat tens of meters away.

The 36 Japanese fighters on escort mission can’t be as leisurely in the air as they were in the first attack.

The US anti-aircraft guns formed an air defense fire net.

A small number of surviving US Army fighters took off from the destroyed Wheeler airport to meet the enemy.

When they were outnumbered, they still shot down more than 10 Japanese planes.

The red eyed Japanese fighter pilots are frantically looking for new “prey” in the air, although they know that it is unlikely that American planes will take off from the airport of Pearl Harbor.

Unexpectedly, the “prey” came to the door from a distance.

During the first attack of the Japanese military aircraft, Lieutenant Taylor on duty mistakenly regarded the Japanese aircraft as 12 B-17 bombers transferred by the US military.

At the moment, these bombers really flew over Pearl Harbor from the west coast of the United States.

At the same time, 18 US Marine “fearless” dive bombers from the returning “enterprise” aircraft carrier also arrived here.

However, they lacked the means of air combat, and there was not much gasoline left.

They were not the opponent of Japanese fighters at all, so they had to land quickly.

Sadly, the same red eyed US anti-aircraft guns did not expect to have their own aircraft in the air.

As a result, these American planes, like headless flies, which managed to escape the clutches of Japanese planes, became the targets of their own anti-aircraft guns.

From 8:55 to 9:45, the second attack wave, which lasted nearly an hour, was like throwing a thick layer of salt on the wound that the US military had been seriously injured, causing great pain to Admiral Kimmel, commander of the US Pacific Fleet.

Last week, the general was explaining to his subordinates “how to deal with the 24-hour war between the United States and Japan” almost every day.

At the moment, his brain is blank, leaving only the sad memory of the humiliating day of December 7, 1941.

In the face of Japan’s undeclared sneak attack, the US Pacific Fleet damaged more than 40 ships of all kinds, of which 8 battleships in the port as the main force were sunk, 5 were seriously damaged, all lost their combat effectiveness, and nearly 10 cruisers were sunk or severely damaged.

In addition, 347 aircraft were destroyed or injured.

More than 3500 US officers and soldiers were killed and injured, more than half of them were killed on the spot.

This loss exceeded the total losses suffered by the United States in World War I, while the Japanese army just lost 29 aircraft and five pocket submarines.

Admiral Kimmel was only thankful that three aircraft carriers of the fleet were out on mission and escaped the disaster.

On the flagship “changmen” of Japan’s Joint Fleet Command, a Japanese staff officer flushed with excitement reported the above results like an endorsement.

Yamamoto listened carefully to the report.

Although he didn’t look as happy as his subordinates, he was also excited in his heart.

His dream of racking his brains for a year finally came true.

Section II Yamamoto 56 draws up an operational plan.

On January 7, 1941, on the 40000 ton battleship “changmen”, the flagship of the joint fleet of the Japanese Navy, commander Yamamoto 56 drew up an operational plan for attacking Pearl Harbor.

For Yamamoto, the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor is a long brewing plan.

Yamamoto was born on April 4, 1884, when his father was just 56 years old, so he was named “56”.

His father’s surname is Takano.

He is a samurai in Nagaoka, Shin Prefecture, Japan.

In 1901, Takano 56 was admitted to the Jiangtian Island Naval Academy with second place.

Just graduated in 1904, he took part in the naval battle against Malaysia in the Russo Japanese war as a second lieutenant candidate, and lost the index finger and ring finger of his left hand in the naval battle.

The victory of the naval battle made him worship the joint fleet commander at that time, Hirako Dongxiang, and determined to make contributions like Dongxiang.

From 1914 to 1916, Takano studied at the Japanese Naval University.

In 1916, introduced by Viscount Tadao Makino, Takano 56 was adopted to the samurai noble Yamamoto family in Nagaoka, and then changed his name to Yamamoto.

From 1919 to 1921, he went to Harvard University to study English and took fuel oil as an elective.

After returning home, he served as an instructor at the Naval University.

In 1923, he was ordered to visit the navies of various countries in Europe and America.

On his way to Europe, he went to the casino to show his superb gambling skills, making him the second person in history who was refused admission by the famous Moroccan casino because of his high gambling skills.

Yamamoto loves gambling.

His motto is to win or lose.

This also had a significant impact on his military thought.

The sneak attack on Pearl Harbor seems to be a crazy gambler in the military field.

In 1925, Yamamoto served as naval attache of the Japanese Embassy in the United States.

Since Japan regarded the United States as the potential biggest enemy after the Russo Japanese War, the candidates for this position are usually the most promising and excellent officers in the Navy, so that they can have a more perceptual and objective understanding of the United States.

After returning to China in 1928, Yamamoto served successively as the captain of cruiser, the captain of aircraft carrier, the technical director of naval aviation headquarters, the commander of the first aviation corps, the director of naval aviation headquarters and the Deputy officer of the Navy.

Finally, he was promoted to commander of the joint fleet in August 1939 and general of the navy in 1940.

Yamamoto has been to the United States for several times, either studying, inspecting, or working.

Therefore, he has a very deep understanding of the economy and military of the United States.

He studied at Harvard University and worked in Washington for two years.

He was well aware of the strong comprehensive national strength and naval strength of the United States.

Therefore, he once tried his best to oppose war with the United States.

However, with the flash attack of fascist Germany on Poland and the outbreak of World War II, Japan’s expansion ambition also expanded.

Not only China, North Korea, including Southeast Asia and even Australia and all islands in the southwest Pacific were classified into the “Greater East Asia co prosperity circle” by Japan.

It is imperative to fight on the southern front, and it is difficult to do so without removing the “thorn in the eye” of the US Pacific Fleet.

Yamamoto, who claims to be “using his body as a royal shield, loyalty as the emperor, no matter what his reputation is, his life can also be thrown away”, inadvertently but seriously began to envisage the battle strategy against the United States and Hawaii.

On a flight day in March 1940, the newly developed“, pocket submarines sneaked into the harbor by themselves and launched torpedoes from under the water to attack during the chaos of bombing.

In terms of route selection, there are usually three routes from Japan to Pearl Harbor: one is the northern route through Aleutian Islands.

Second, the middle route through Midway Island.

The third is the southern route through the Marshall Islands.

These three routes have their own advantages and disadvantages.

The northern route is far away from the aircraft patrol range of the U.S. shore based aviation force, and there are generally no commercial ships, which is easy to hide.

However, due to the bad weather, strong winds and waves, it is difficult to refuel at sea.

The climate of the China southern route is suitable for navigation, and it is close to the US Island, but the merchant ships are frequent and easy to be found.

After repeated comparison, especially for the sake of confidentiality, the Japanese army finally chose the north route.

The distance from the sea area where the aircraft takes off also needs to be considered.

Too close is easy to be found, too far will make the pilot tired and affect the exertion of combat effectiveness.

The sea area is 12 degrees north of Hu Island, i.e. 170 degrees north of Hu island.

According to the speed of the Japanese aircraft at that time, it took about two hours from taking off to arriving at Pearl Harbor.

Moreover, after the carrier aircraft took off, the aircraft carrier retreated for a certain distance.

In this way, the Japanese plane went close and returned a little farther.

If the US military sends planes to pursue, the round-trip voyage will increase a lot, making it difficult for the US military to pursue.

The choice of assault time is more painstaking.

First of all, to launch at the same time as the landing in Malaya, we must choose the day with moonlight in the second half of the night, that is, the date of the second quarter of the month, because the landing is at dawn.

In order to facilitate the smooth completion of the battle, there must be moonlight in the second half of the night.

Secondly, we should choose Sunday, because according to the activity law of the U.S. military, ships going to sea usually return on Saturday, so the number of warships berthing in the port on Sunday is the most, and the number of personnel on Sundays is the most, and the alert is the most relaxed.

Based on various conditions, the raid was set for Sunday, December 7.

The assault time was 6 a.m. Later, because the pilots of the two aircraft carriers of the fifth aviation corps did not have night flight training, the assault time was changed to take off at 6 a.m. and attack at 8 a.m. The whole plan is well thought out.

However, Yamamoto’s sneak attack on Pearl Harbor was opposed by many people from all levels at the beginning of its formulation.

First of all, within the joint fleet, Nan yunzhongyi, commander of the first aviation fleet, believed that this operation plan was too risky and said that “I am against the operation of Pearl Harbor”.

If the opposition from the lower level will not shake Yamamoto’s determination, then the opposition from the military command department above will make Yamamoto have to go through some twists and turns.

The military command department believes that the “Z plan” has four obvious shortcomings: first, the key to the success or failure of the operation lies in confidentiality, which is extremely difficult to achieve.

Not to mention that a large number of troop mobilization will attract the attention of the enemy.

Even if there is about two weeks on the way, it is likely to encounter enemy ships, aircraft or ships of neutral countries.

Second, there are many disturbing aspects in the implementation of the operation, such as the bad weather on the day of the air raid, or most of the enemy fleet is not in Pearl Harbor.

Third, it is difficult to guarantee the effect of aircraft attack.

For example, the test of shallow water torpedo has not been completely successful, and 10000 enemy ships have laid anti torpedo nets, all previous efforts will be wasted.

Fourth, aircraft carriers are needed for Southern operations, so there are not enough aircraft carriers for sneak attacks on Pearl Harbor.

Due to the above four factors, the military command department believes that the battle in Hawaii is a speculative adventure, and there is little assurance of success.

Once you miss, you will “steal a chicken and lose a handful of rice”.

As a result, Yamamoto’s painstaking Hawaii battle plan was shelved by the military command department for nearly eight months.

But Yamamoto is by no means a person who retreats in the face of difficulties.

Those objections will only make his mind clearer and his determination more firm.

He resolutely instructed his subordinates: as long as I am still the commander of the joint fleet, the battle of Pearl Harbor must be fought! There is no perfect plan, but there must be perfect measures.

Make good preparations! On June 22, 1941, fascist Germany invaded the Soviet Union on a large scale with a lightning raid, which gave a stimulant to Japanese militarism.

Opinions advocating “Southward advance” and fighting against the United States gradually gained the upper hand.

On July 2, Japan’s pre imperial conference adopted the outline of imperial national policy to adapt to changes in the situation, which proposed to “strengthen the trend of moving south” and “the Empire will not hesitate to fight against Britain and the United States in order to achieve the above purpose”.

On September 6, the emperor of Japan personally attended the pre imperial meeting and adopted the key points for the implementation of the imperial national policy, which proposed that in order to ensure self-defense, the Empire, with the determination to fight against the United States (Britain and the Netherlands), would generally complete the war preparations within the deadline of late October.

In mid September, at the Naval University in Tokyo, Yamamoto personally organized relevant personnel to secretly carry out the “special operation exercise in Hawaii”.

In order not to leak the news, all the students left school.

This is a graphic operation exercise simulating actual combat.

The red side represents the US Army and the blue side represents the Japanese army.

The commanders of the red side at all levels were held by members of the military command department who originally opposed the operation, thus strengthening the antagonism.

The exercise lasted two days.

While the blue side achieved major results, it was also seriously damaged.

Half of the six aircraft carriers were seriously damaged and more than 120 aircraft were destroyed.

Soon afterwards, Yamamoto personally selected Kagoshima training ground with terrain similar to Pearl Harbor for simulated flight training.

The pilots didn’t know the battle plan of Hawaii at that time.

Driven by Yamamoto’s devil, they sometimes went through the canyon secretly.

Sometimes it scrapes the sea surface and launches torpedoes within 20 meters.

Sometimes dive down, sometimes jump and rise, one by one like outlaws.

In mid October, the Japanese military, which could not wait, overthrew the guard cabinet and replaced the cabinet by Tojo.

Yamamoto’s Hawaiian battle plan was finally approved by the chief of the military command department, Yongye Xiushen, and was included in the agenda of the military command department.

On November 5, another pre imperial meeting adopted the new “key points for the implementation of imperial national policies”, which made it clear that “the time for launching an armed attack is scheduled for early December, and the army and Navy should complete operational preparations”.

At the same time, an improved shallow water torpedo adapted to the operational needs of Pearl Harbor has also been successfully tested.

Subsequently, the mobile forces carrying out the raid organized actual combat exercises according to Yamamoto’s Hawaiian battle plan.

Huge fleetTake off from the deck runway of an aircraft carrier 250 nautical miles away and conduct a large-scale air raid exercise on the main force of the hypothetical US Pacific Joint Fleet, the Japanese joint fleet anchored in zobo Bay.

On the same day, the “order of the sea No.

1″ signed by the chief of the military command department, Yukio Nagano, on behalf of the emperor was issued.

Yamamoto immediately issued the “joint fleet mobile operation order”, in which the second order set the operation scheduled date as December 8, Tokyo time (December 7, Hawaii time).

On November 17, Yamamoto boarded the flagship of the mobile force “Chicheng” and said goodbye to the soldiers about to go to war: the success or failure of this battle will determine the fate of the whole war in our country in the future.

The operational plan was formulated under the guidance of eliminating all difficulties and being unexpected, but perhaps general Kimmel of the US Pacific fleet made careful preparations for what might happen.

All officers and men must be fully prepared to fight a hard battle and do not take it lightly.

After these words, Yamamoto specially came to the flight fleet commander Yuantian.

They shook hands and said nothing to each other.

Six days later, a mobile force composed of about 30 warships with six aircraft carriers as the main force, led by Nan Yun, assembled at a remote fishing port called single crown Bay in the middle of the northern Japanese island of seiraku.

The residents of the island were surprised by the sudden arrival of such a huge team in the once deserted place.

What made them even more terrified was that from then on, all links between the island and the outside world were cut off, and the living supplies of the islanders were all supplied by the army.

This closed martial law was not lifted until December 8.

In the early morning of November 26, facing the snowflakes, this huge mobile force set off from SHANGUAN Bay.

There was no farewell scene, only the military band on the flagship of “Chicheng” played the majestic “warship March” and set out for their heroic journey.

Seeing off the warships, Yamamoto could not help praying silently for the blessing of the gods.

Section III special information from the secret front while the Japanese military was making preparations for the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese military and government jointly directed a clumsy deception drama on another hidden front.

On March 27, 1941, Honolulu terminal 8 welcomed the “Shinda Maru” of the Japanese postal shipping company from Yokohama.

A spy on a major secret mission was aboard the ship.

His name is Takeo Yoshikawa.

He is a second lieutenant of the Intelligence Department of the Japanese military command department.

In order to hide people’s eyes and ears, the director of the U.S. Bureau of the Japanese Ministry of foreign affairs changed him to a foreigner’s unreadable pseudonym, Masayoshi Morimura, and gave him the title of Foreign Secretary of the Japanese Consulate General in Honolulu.

A car with a special license plate for foreign consulates sent him to the Japanese Consulate General on nuanu street.

“You are Yoshikawa Jun!” Consul general yoshido looked at him with a smile and said in a low voice as far as possible, “I have received the entrustment of the military command department, and I know everything.

” this man Yoshikawa, alias morimuraki, is not a layman.

In order to complete his secret mission, he has made preparations for nearly eight months and knows the situation of American ships and the local conditions and customs of Hawaii like the back of his hand.

“Please take more care.

” He felt there was no need to make more statements with the consul general.

Immediately, he changed into a Hawaiian shirt and green trousers, which are very popular in Honolulu, which is often summer all the year round.

Wearing a Hawaiian hat with feathers, he dressed up as a tourist.

With the approval of the consul general, he walked out of the consulate easily, took a taxi and drove to Pearl Harbor.

For more than 40 days in a row, he was not in a hurry to report his work to his boss.

Sometimes wandering around Pearl Harbor as a tourist.

Sometimes disguised as dirty Filipino workers, they sneaked into Pearl Harbor for on-the-spot reconnaissance.

Sometimes it looks like a rich man, inviting American sailors to the bar to eat and drink.

Sometimes disguised as a prostitute, he drank a lot of prostitutes in the “spring tide building” of a tavern on a hill.

However, the drunken eye is not on the prostitute, but staring at Pearl Harbor outside the window.

He obtains information from various sources.

On May 12, Jichuan sent the first secret telegram about the berthing of US ships in Pearl Harbor.

“Well done! Report every 10 days.

” The military command department is overjoyed and has higher and higher requirements for Jichuan.

In August, Jichuan was instructed to report every three days.

On October 23, when Yamamoto was preparing to implement the Hawaiian war plan, the military command sent another spy to Honolulu with the passenger ship “longtianmaru”.

His name is major Nakajima.

He pretends to be the staff of the passenger ship and carries a secret letter from the military command department to Yoshikawa, asking Yoshikawa to provide “whether the US fleet leaves the port every week” before the passenger ship leaves the port the next day “In general, what day of the week is the largest number of warships moored in Pearl Harbor?” And many other intelligence.

“So many questions!” Yoshikawa looked at the small characters in the secret letter.

He was so nervous that he almost cried out, “there’s only one day, my God!” Fortunately, over the past seven months, he has accumulated a lot of intelligence in his mind and notebook, and he is no stranger to these problems.

Almost without thinking, he sat down at his desk and answered 97 questions one by one.

When he carefully sealed the extremely important information, the dawn of the next day came out of the window.

As a precaution, he handed the information to consul general hido, who enjoyed diplomatic immunity.

“Don’t worry, I will hand it over.

” The consul general smiled and said to the foreign secretary with bloodshot eyes, “have a good sleep!” Then he got on the special bus and sped away to the returning “Longtian pill” passenger ship.

Among the spies who made great contributions to Japan’s sneak attack on Pearl Harbor and were called “unsung heroes”, there was a girl from Germany.

Her name was Susie Ruth.

The girl with charming eyes became the mistress of Goebbels, the powerful lame propaganda minister of the Nazi party at the age of 17.

Later, Japan asked Germany to provide a spy to Pearl Harbor.

For some reason, Goebbels recommended Ruth’s family to Hawaii.

Ruth’s father, Qun, was a loyal Nazi and was honored to have his family on a spy mission abroad.

They bought a villa near Pearl Harbor.

The whole family observed with eight eyes and a high-power binoculars.

Collect information about Pearl Harbor, one of the most fascinatingJapan! The 16 pistols were used to deal with the possible resistance of passengers, especially the more than 10 American soldiers aboard the round, when they returned.

Sure enough, when the ship arrived at the northern end of Midway Island, Captain Kimura received a telegram from the Japanese naval Ministry: “Longtian pill immediately turn around and return to Japan at full speed!” At this time, the sky over Pearl Harbor was full of smoke.

The painstaking Japanese military not only set off a smoke screen in front of the Americans, but also put the “ecstasy array” at its door.

On December 5 and 6, about 3000 sailors in bright blue uniforms and white Leggings strolled freely on Ginza street in downtown Tokyo, which was particularly eye-catching.

“In such a tense situation, what are you doing to organize sailors to visit?” Some citizens said angrily.

Where do they know that there are “famous things” in it.

In order to cover up the imminent battle in Hawaii, the Ministry of the Navy, the headquarters of the Japanese army, ordered various naval schools and training institutions to organize a large number of students and interns to visit Tokyo in marine costumes.

All marine hats with school marks were replaced with official military hats with the words “imperial navy of Japan”.

As the Japanese military hoped, Asahi Shimbun reported the next day that about 3000 naval warriors who had been training day and night in the rough Pacific arrived in Tokyo for a tour in batches.

Who would have thought that at the moment, on the rough Pacific, a huge assault fleet was approaching Pearl Harbor, The American nightmare is about to begin! Section V what the US high-ranking officials have done to the Japanese military, the United States, which has a huge intelligence system and advanced reconnaissance means, has really been completely kept in the dark in advance? This is indeed a historical mystery.

When Japan secretly rejoiced in the development of a new type of “97 type” Purple cipher machine to protect the state’s top secret, a 19 member U.S. military cipher decoding team, after hard work, finally imitated the same cipher machine and cracked the Japanese cipher in September 1940.

The United States called this decoding work “magic”.

Colonel Friedman, who led the decoding team, won the “citizen special Merit Medal”, “highest Merit Medal” and “national security Medal” successively.

In the United States, he is the only one who has won the above three medals.

Until 1956, the US Congress passed a resolution to award Friedman 100000 US dollars.

Because from the day when Japan’s password was decoded, it actually means that Japan has no secrets to protect.

The core secrets from Japan are like wearing “the emperor’s new clothes” and naked in front of Americans.

In order not to be detected by the Japanese side that their passwords have been decoded, US intelligence officials have adopted extremely strict control measures: all important information is sealed in bags and sent by special messengers to the president, the Secretary of state, the Secretary of the army and Navy, the director of intelligence, the director of the Bureau of combat planning and other key figures, which are limited to a very small range.

Perhaps it was too worried about the leak that the Hawaiian garrison could not get the relevant information in time.

Japan’s ambassador to the United States Nomura would never have dreamed that his negotiator, Secretary of state hull, was also aware of the hundreds of “national” top secret telegrams he received.

His efforts to accomplish his mission were sometimes a ridiculous childish trick in the eyes of hull, who had already had a bottom in his heart.

Hull wrote in his memoir: through the intercepted and decoded “magic” intelligence, we know the instructions issued by the Minister of foreign affairs of Tokyo to Nomura and other representatives, as well as the report on the talks with me issued by Nomura to Tokyo.

These materials show that, on the one hand, the Japanese government has conducted peace negotiations with us.

On the other hand, it carried out its aggressive plan.

I seem to see such a witness whose testimony is completely contrary to what he said.

Of course, I have to be careful not to let Nomura know at all.

I have mastered their secrets.

When Nomura reported to Tokyo that “hull looked at our plan very carefully”, hull was complacent about his quiet performance.

Perhaps the reason why he “looked carefully” was just to identify the translation level of U.S. intelligence officials and see whether it was consistent with the “original”.

According to statistics, since the decision of “not hesitate to fight against Britain and the United States” was made by Japan’s pre imperial conference in early July 1941, on the eve of the war in Pearl Harbor, as many as 270 top secret telegrams sent by the Japanese Ministry of foreign affairs to the Embassy in the United States were decoded during this period.

The coded information sent back by the Japanese Consulate General in Honolulu to the military command department was almost completely intercepted and decoded by the US military.

However, before the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, Admiral Kimmel, commander of the US Pacific Fleet, was indeed kept in the dark.

But it was not so much deceived by the Japanese side as by themselves and their top leadership.

President Roosevelt saw the dark clouds of war over the Pacific more clearly than anyone else.

A lot of “magic” intelligence on his desk shows that Japan has issued an ultimatum to the United States.

The deadline for negotiation is “November 29” and “after that, things will happen naturally”.

“We may be attacked next Monday, because the Japanese are famous for attacking without warning.

” On November 24th Roosevelt reminded his cabinet.

Three days later, according to the president’s instruction, General Marshall, chief of staff, issued a warning order to the army forces in the Philippines and Hawaii that “Japanese hostilities will occur at any time”.

Admiral Stark, Minister of naval operations, said more bluntly in his telegram to the Pacific Fleet and the Asian fleet.

At the beginning, “this telegram should be regarded as a war warning” and predicted that “Japan will take aggressive actions in recent days”.

However, in predicting the key direction of Japan’s attack, the cable listed the Philippines, Thailand and other places, but did not mention Pearl Harbor.

Admiral Kimmel, who was blind and confident, didn’t seem to have much sense of urgency to strengthen preparedness after receiving the telegram.

Maybe he took a “reassurance” instead.

On November 30, Tokyo called the ambassador to Germany and asked him to inform the German head of state Hitler and foreign minister Ribbentrop of the following information: “there is a great danger of a sudden outbreak of war between Japan and Britain and the United States, and the date of war may be faster than expected.

” Around this time, Tokyo sent Nomura, the ambassador to the United States, a letter on destroying the passwordAnd important documents and secret telegrams designating some embassy personnel to evacuate Washington immediately were deciphered and sent to the desks of decision makers in the White House and the Pentagon in time.

These “magic” intelligence once again reminded policymakers in Washington that war is imminent! Faced with this situation, US President Roosevelt was really calm.

On the evening of December 6, Washington time (the morning of December 7, Tokyo time), he was still in the oval study chatting with his close friend Harry Hopkins, who had just been discharged from the hospital, about a relaxed topic: how to spend his old age with a fisherman’s mentality and leisure.

At about 21:30, Captain Hughes, assistant to the president’s naval adjutant, entered the study and presented the president with an important information just intercepted.

This is the first 13 parts of Japan’s memorandum to the United States, which is similar to the declaration of war, and the final part 14 is still to be cut off.

“That means war is about to break out.

” Roosevelt said and handed the information to his friends.

Hopkins suggested that the president strike first, but was rejected.

“No, we can’t do that.

We are a peace loving nation with a good history.

” Roosevelt knew that even if he had to strike first, Congress would not pass it.

The last part of the memorandum of understanding between Japan and the United States, which was close to declaring war, and the message instructing Nomura to officially notify the United States at 13:00 p.m. Washington time on December 7, were intercepted and deciphered in time by the “magic” intelligence group of the U.S. military, and their speed even exceeded that of the interpreter of the Japanese Embassy in the United States.

At the moment, Admiral Kimmel, commander of the US Pacific Fleet, is still swimming in a dream.

The clock with calendar at Pearl harbor wharf is at 4:45 a.m. on December 7.

Admiral Kimmel, who was not aware of the slightest crisis, didn’t think of his troops immediately after waking up.

Unexpectedly, he thought of having a golf game to play! He had no idea that his fleet and his reputation would be suddenly and destructively hit! “Would you like to contact Admiral Kimmel by telephone now?” In the tense Office of the Secretary of naval operations, intelligence director Wilkinson advised his boss, Secretary stark.

“You might as well talk to the president first.

It’s a sin to break Kimmel’s dream at dawn.

” Stark’s hand reached for the telephone and slowly put it down again.

General Marshall, chief of staff, seemed to be in a particularly good mood this morning.

He rode on the winding path in the park as usual, but he rode for 20 minutes more than usual.

He was too anxious to find him with “magic” intelligence.

Colonel Bratton, the chief of the Far East section of the Army Intelligence Agency, looked like an ant on a hot pot.

After receiving the notice, Marshall didn’t go directly to the office.

Instead, he took a good bath in his apartment, then changed his clothes slowly and made Colonel Bratton wait another 15 minutes at the gate of the Army Department.

At this time, many senior military officials successively entered the office of the chief of staff.

They all noticed the words “13:00 p.m.” in the “magic” intelligence and agreed that at this time or soon afterwards, a place in the Pacific would be attacked by the Japanese army.

Some can’t help raising their wrists to look at their watches.

There are less than 100 minutes left from this time limit.

Marshall clearly felt that it was time to make up his mind.

“The Japanese army will start the attack at 13 o’clock this afternoon or soon after 13 o’clock.

” He made a positive judgment first, and then said categorically, “I have decided to issue an emergency alert instruction to the commander of the whole army.

” Then he drafted the message and informed minister stark by telephone.

He specially added the words “please also tell the navy” at the end and asked Colonel Bratton standing next to him to send it “in the fastest and safest way”.

“The fastest and safest way” is actually on Marshall’s desk.

As soon as he picked up the special telephone on his desk, or went to the next room to enable a secret telephone, or even directly instructed to use the Navy’s short wave radio and the FBI system specially used to communicate with Hawaii, Admiral Kimmel could get more than an hour of valuable preparation time to order his fleet to set sail and the plane to take off, so as to catch the Japanese army unprepared! However, Marshall, who had always been smart, did not do so.

While leaving a deep regret, it also left a thought-provoking historical mystery.

Of course, he did not know that the army’s line to the Oahu army base in Pearl Harbor had failed.

The telegram he asked to be sent “by the fastest and safest way” was sent by western United Telecom at 12:12 noon Washington time on December 7.

It changed hands three times from Washington to Honolulu via San Francisco, and walked for a full 8 hours and 16 minutes.

When general Schott, commander of the US Army in Pearl Harbor, received the message, it was already 7 hours and 3 minutes after the Japanese attack.

Not knowing whether out of anger or sadness, Admiral Kimmel read out the message loudly in front of many staff officers.

This “fastest and safest” message has become the laughing stock of history.

It is also ironic that the Japanese Embassy in the United States, which was delayed in its work, did not act in accordance with its government’s electric order that it must notify the United States at “13 p.m. Washington time” on December 7, but was a full 80 minutes late.

This is tantamount to giving the United States an unexpected “gift” – Japan’s undeclared war.

On December 7, 1941, after Japan succeeded in the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, Roosevelt’s War speech and state of the war speech were unanimously approved in Congress, and isolationism dissipated overnight.

Previously, the US Congress advocated avoiding involvement in European political and military conflicts in foreign relations and resolutely pursued isolationism.

Therefore, many historians’ explanation of this historical mystery is that the upper echelons of the United States have long been informed of the Japanese army’s sneak attack plan.

The reason why Japan can succeed and the Pearl Harbor incident can become a reality is just Roosevelt’s bitter meat trick, which is a last resort.

Because the isolationist thought in the United States was very serious at that time, many of President Roosevelt’s plans were constrained.

As an outstanding statesman with great foresight, Roosevelt knew very well that if he did not timely assist the anti fascist countries such as Britain, China and the Soviet Union that were struggling hard, when the axis powers did control Eurasia, the United States would not be able to resist the already well-established Axis powers of Germany, Italy and Japan alone.

For the United States, it is better to join the war early than late, but domestic isolationism only seeks immediate interests and is unwilling to join the war.

Therefore, Roosevelt did not hesitate to awaken the people at the cost of Pearl HarborThe awakening of the masses, smash the illusion of isolationism, realize the common hatred of the whole country, and resolutely fight to the end with German Fascism and Japanese militarism.

Japan’s sneak attack on Pearl Harbor solved all the difficulties faced by American decision-making groups at once.

In the past, they have been in a wait-and-see state of indecision, worried that many people in the country were opposed to participating in the war or held a cold attitude.

Now, all Americans are closely united in the common aspiration of “don’t forget Pearl Harbor”.

There is no difference between isolationists and war interventionists.

The mood of the whole country has turned into strength.

On the morning of December 8, President Roosevelt personally went to Congress.

He didn’t sit in a wheelchair.

His eldest son James helped him into the hall and spoke to the US Senate and house of Representatives: “yesterday, the United States was deliberately and violently attacked, and this day will always be the national shame of our country.

” Standing on the podium of the house of Representatives, he told the story of the despicable sneak attack on Pearl Harbor the day before.

We cannot deny the fact that our territory is in serious danger.

In his ten minute speech, he asked Congress to approve the declaration of war on Japan and predicted with confidence: “with the greatest determination of our people, we will win the final victory.

” The request was unanimously passed in the Senate, and only one dissenting female member of the house of Representatives voted against it.

At 16:10 p.m., Roosevelt wore a black armband mourning the victims of Pearl Harbor and signed the declaration of war against Japan.

On the same day, the Chinese government also declared war on Germany and Italy.

Section VI the formation of the international united front against Japan “well, we won.

” This is the direct response of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

At 14 p.m. on December 8, 1941, he announced the British declaration of war against Japan in the house of Commons, two hours earlier than Roosevelt announced the United States Declaration of war against Japan.

When Prime Minister Churchill heard the news of Japan’s sneak attack on Pearl Harbor on the radio, he was so excited that he quickly called Roosevelt and asked, “what is Japan going to do this time?” President Roosevelt replied, “they’re attacking us in Hawaii.

We’re all on the same boat.

” Churchill was the first to feel heartfelt joy at the saying “we are on a ship”.

He said: “the time for us to fight alone with our own strength has passed.

” He wrote confidently in his diary: “Hitler’s fate is decided, so is Mussolini.

If you ask me about the fate of the Japanese, he must be beaten to pieces.

” Prime Minister Churchill was so excited that he shouted to foreign minister Wendeng, “Hey! What stupid thing did the Japanese do? Think about it.

What good result would it have if you stabbed the American cowboy in the ass! Anyway, we won’t fight alone.

” Churchill was definitely not alone in this excitement.

In Moscow, Stalin, the supreme commander of the Soviet Union, was sleepy in the basement of the shelter.

Lieutenant general vassilevski, the Soviet war minister, hurried to tell him the news of the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor.

Stalin immediately brightened his eyes and became excited: “great, really great!” Japan’s sneak attack on Pearl Harbor suddenly relieved Stalin’s troubles under the heavy pressure of the German army and helped the Soviet Union.

There was no need to worry about Japan’s attack from the East.

So, half a month later, the Soviet Union secretly transferred 1:3 troops from the Far East military region, including 30 infantry divisions, 900 tanks and all combat aircraft, into the front line of Moscow, leaving only a part of the border defense forces in the Far East to confront the Japanese Kwantung Army.

Due to the treaty, the Soviet Union did not declare war on Japan.

The French government in exile, General de Gaulle of the headquarters of Free France in London, also predicted that the situation would begin to improve.

That night, he said to Colonel Percy, “victory is a foregone conclusion.

In the future, we should be ready to recover France.

” More than 20 countries, including the Netherlands, Free France, Belgium, Greece, Canada, Panama, Poland, El Salvador, New Zealand, Australia, the Federation of South Africa, Cuba, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala and Haiti, declared war on Japan one after another.

By smashing the backbone of the US Pacific Fleet, the Japanese militarists promoted the alliance of China, the United States, Britain, France, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand and other democratic countries, and a just war against fascist aggression was launched in full swing.

Section VII Germany, Italy and Japan signed the military agreement between the three countries.

Just when Hideki Tojo was smiling and very proud, German Hitler was furious and stunned the people around him.

He always expected German armored forces to go straight into the hinterland of the Soviet Union and finally subdue Britain, but on one condition, the United States must not intervene.

Since the invasion of the Soviet Union, he had always hoped that Japan would send troops to Siberia and attack the Soviet Union between the East and the West.

However, Japan remained silent in the Far East.

In November 1941, the German and Soviet armies fought fiercely in the severe cold and wind and snow.

On the night of December 2, the German army approached the outskirts of Moscow, only 32 kilometers away from Red Square.

It had seen the tip of the Kremlin, but encountered the positive resistance of the Soviet Army led by Zhukov.

On December 6, the 100 divisions and regiments of the Soviet army made an all-round counterattack from a 320 kilometer long front.

Hitler suffered an unexpected counterattack.

Fatigue and cold exceeded the endurance limit of the soldiers, and the German army fell into a state of great chaos.

On the day Hitler decided to give up attacking Moscow and retreat, he heard the news that Japan and the United States were at war and that the United States had been involved in the world war, which made Hitler feel that his world strategy was about to disappear, so he was angry and lost his mind.

Hitler was faced with serious reality.

After two or three days of calm consideration, he felt that it was also desirable for Japan to contain some British and American forces in Asia, so he declared war on the United States on December 11, 1941.

Before Mussolini got up on the morning of December 8, hearing the news of the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, he said to his son-in-law, foreign minister ziano, “it’s over now.

” One day later, after some weighing, I felt that bad things could also become good things.

The United States and Britain paid considerable strength to fight in the Asia Pacific region and Japan.

He may benefit from this in Europe and can revisit the old dream of “African Empire”, so he declared war on the United States with Germany on December 11, 1941.

On December 11, Japan, Germany and Italy signed another “Three Kingdoms army”The agreement declared that the three countries would never lay down their arms before winning the joint battle against Britain and the United States, and expressed their unshakable determination never to make peace with the enemy alone.

Before the successful conclusion of the war, the Contracting States should cooperate in the cause of establishing a new order in accordance with the spirit of the Three Kingdoms alliance.

Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor was successful, but it cast a stigma on Japan, making it unclear after its defeat.

Japan started the war with the victory of the aviation operation, and ended in the defeat of the aviation operation.

This is an ironic coincidence, and the Pearl Harbor incident has become the forerunner of fate.
